Angie Giacoma

Let my introduce my self, Angelina and family, Husband Dan, sons Danny, Keith and their families, and our Wheaten, Fiona.

Having growing up with dogs, a Pekinese & several Poodles in my family as long as I can remember, it was natural that I would always want a dog when I got married.

Since we have been married, we have owned a Boxer (mix), two Pekinese (brothers), two Poodle’s AKC (mother & son) and two 100lb, not at the same time Shepherd, Sheepdog and Collie mix.  By this time we realized we wanted to down size again. We have been lucky that all our previous pets have been very lovable and had great personalities.

After attending the DKC Show at Cobo for a few years, we knew we wanted to try a different breed.  While visiting with different types of Terrier breeders, we decided the Wheaten was the one for us.  (We liked their look to be honest).  While talking to several Wheaten breeders at the show we learned even more about the breed, being active and loving we knew that the Wheaten was what we were looking for in a dog.

Our first Wheaten Bailey, was a bundle of joy and smart as a whip, lovable and funny. He would walk backwards up the stair when we were going up to bed, with a toy in his mouth while we followed playing with it.

So there was no question that we wanted a second Wheaten. We talked to Carol Shaltz about purchasing one of her expected Wheaten and we acquired another lovable, smart and funny little one. We named Fiona.   It has been a great adventure and full of joy attaining her Championship “Little Town Morning Glory” She has gone on to specializing in a few shows and has done very well. Carol has been a great guide and mentor.

We have enjoyed becoming members of the MCSCWTC and attending the picnic and the ONO parties. I hope to be a valuable board member and will do my best to enhance the club and breed.
