My family consists of my husband Frank and my wheaten Niamh. I have been a member of the Motor City Soft Coated Terrier Club since 1989. I have enjoyed serving as a Board Member and currently as Vice President. I have also been Health Committee Chairman since 1996.

In 1989 my supervisor at work had a litter of Wheaten puppies and asked if I would like to see them. I immediately fell in love with the breed and purchased my first wheaten "Casey". I started obedience school with Casey and loved working with him so much I continued on in obedience to obtain a CD title in all four kennel clubs.

As I attended dog shows for obedience, I would stop along the way to watch the conformation ring. My heart told me to get involved in showing in conformation and to become a breeder of this wonderful breed so others may enjoy their antics as much as I did. I started searching for a reputable breeder, which lead me to Karen Mueller and Amber (CH Kaler Lil’Town Flirt CD). We championed Amber in conformation and I immediately started her in obedience. She quickly earned her CD title in all four kennel clubs.

I am especially proud of her, in 2003 she was in the top 25 in breed points and was invited to the AKC Eukanuba National Championship.  In 2004 she was again invited and won an Award of Merit.  Since she was number 3 in Breed points in 2003 she was invited to the 2004 Westiminster Kennel Club Show.  2005 was a great year again as she was invited to participate at the AKC Eukanuba National Championship Show.

Niamh and I are presently enjoying obedience classes. We will soon be competing in the obedience ring. Her next adventure will be in the whelping box.

I hope the puppies I breed bring as much enjoyment to their families as Frank and I have had throughout the years. Whether as a Companion or a Show Wheaten, a family should not be without a wheaten or two. I hope to be able continue to be a valuable member of our club, organizing and participating in all of our club activities.
